New Scion Vehicles for Sale in Marland | MD
Underrated Style, Function, and Affordability
Scion, a marque of Toyota that started back in 2003, is set to be absorbed by its mother brand come August 2016, but their fundamentals are solid. Geared towards increasing sales in the younger generation with their “pure price” guarantee, Pohanka Automotive Group has new Scion vehicles for sale in Maryland and they shouldn’t be overlooked.
One of the great aspects about Scion is their eschewing of trims. For instance, the Scion iA, a compact sedan, is available in one, well-equipped trim level with a few stand-alone options to add if so desired. It comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, a keyless ignition and entry, cruise control, full power accessories, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. It also comes standard with a Low-Speed Pre-Collision System1, which is unheard of in the compact sedan segment even as an add-on. Optional additions include a Backup Camera2, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a navigation system. Also notable is the fuel economy on the Scion iA, which clocks in at 33/42/37 MPG city/hwy/combined3, figures that are on the high-end for its class.
The new Scion vehicles for sale in Maryland represent the original mission of the marque, which was to create affordable, stylish vehicles with function. The Scion tC and iM are great examples of that, ringing in as ideal vehicles to take off to college thanks to the extra trunk space. The Scion tC, in particular, emanates this with its funky two-door, four seat, hatchback body style. It’s safe, receiving 5 out of 5 stars in government crash tests, and earned an overall rating of “good” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It also earned the accolade Top Safety Pick from the IIHS in 2015.
If you’d like to pay homage to the 1970’s van culture while heading to the Royal Farms Arena to catch a muscial performance, the Limited Edition Scion xB 686 Parklan Edition is perfect for you. Scion worked with a snowboarding and technical winter apparel company, 686, to produce the Limited Edition xB. They wanted to offer the penultimate vehicle for a nonstop lifestyle and they succeeded. The xB 686 has all the touches needed for an on-the-go lifestyle, from the zippered pockets behind the seats to the Pioneer® audio system, it’s a combination of style and function you won’t find anywhere else.
The last vehicle in Scion’s 2016 lineup is the FR-S. This small, sport coupe is lightweight, which makes it great fun to drive and still gets respectable fuel economy. The FR-S gets 25/34/28 MPG city/hwy/combined4.
Though “Scion” won’t be emblazoned across the buildings past August of 2016, Toyota is going to continue to sell selected models under their own brand name. Before that happens, though, head on down to Pohanka Automotive Group for their new Scion vehicles for sale in Maryland to take a look at these underrated, affordable, stylish, and functional vehicles.
1. The Low Speed Pre-Collision System is designed to help reduce the crash speed and damage in certain frontal collisions only. It is not a collision-avoidance system and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as speed, driver input and road conditions. See your Owner’s Manual for further information.
2. The backup camera does not provide a comprehensive view of the rear area of the vehicle. You should also look around outside your vehicle and use your mirrors to confirm rearward clearance. Cold weather will limit effectiveness and view may become cloudy.
